Curriculum

We follow the Sunshine State Standards which is what all Florida Public schools use as a basis for their curriculum. The standards include: reading, language, literature, listening, viewing and speaking, number sense, algebraic thinking, geometry, data analysis and measurement.

Special Note:
Phonemic Awareness is also a part of our curriculum. There are 42 different phonemes in the English language. We provide activities that will build auditory pathways and strengthen a child's ability to make distinctions between the phonemes. Research tells us that phonemic awareness is the number one single indicator of a child's ability to read and that 25% of middle class first graders do not have strong phonemic awareness.
